Discover how you can achieve peak performance levels and foster peace of mind through our 3-month journey.
The 3-month journey
Why 3 Months?
Just like with anything else, mental skills take practice. It takes time to develop skills like visualisation, positive self-talk, and goal-setting, and make them automatic. Research has shown it can take 4-8 weeks to learn a new cognitive or behavioural skill (Bordo, Costanzo & Villani, 2025; Fletcher & Sakar, 2016).
How Do We Start?
In our first session together, we will discuss what you want to achieve and set a collaborative goal (e.g. “After 3 months of working together, I want to feel confident going into any match”). After this, I will map out a three-month plan for us to achieve this goal. This would include individual sessions, matchday/training observations, measurement tools, regular check-ins and reports, and discussions with other key stakeholders (e.g. coaches, parents).
What Are Sessions Like?
At the 3-month mark, we will evaluate our progress towards the goal(s) we set and discuss next steps. It is crucial to the process that the client is open, honest and accountable in completing any tasks assigned between sessions. In return, you can expect Hiren to demonstrate care for the client that goes above and beyond, while maintaining confidentiality and a strict ethical code of practice (i.e. guided by the British Psychological Society).
